Viewing all the passwords that Internet Explorer has saved is as easy as launching NirSoft’s free IE PassView application. Once you launch this application, it will generate a list that displays all saved passwords as well as some other useful information: web address, username, password type, password strength, and where the password is stored.

IE PassView provides support for two of Microsoft’s web browser. It supports Internet Explorer, any version from IE 4.0 up to IE 11. And it also supports Microsoft Edge, the browser that replaces IE and is only available on Windows 10. To get IE PassView up and running, you’ll have to complete a standard installation procedure (download an installer, run, follow the setup wizard’s instructions).

From top to bottom, you’ll see the following on IE PassView’s interface: a traditional File Menu, a toolbar with buttons for various functions, and a main panel that lists all the passwords stored by Internet Explorer of Microsoft Edge. If you want to, you can select any item from this list and export it as a TXT or HTML file.

Using IE PassView is an incredibly simple process: all you have to do is launch the application and it will automatically fetch all the passwords and list them on its interface. It really doesn’t get any simpler than that!

IE PassView is a NirSoft product and that, of course, means its freeware. All the utilities that Nir Sofer developed and published on NirSoft.net are freeware.

Easily review all the usernames and passwords that Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge have saved by running IE PassView.

Pros

There’s nothing complicated about installing IE PassView on a Windows PC. IE PassView provides support for Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. IE PassView conveniently presents all the usernames and passwords that IE and Edge have stored. IE PassView is free software.

Cons

None that I could think of. Tip NirSoft has similar applications for other web browsers: IE PassView for Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer and PasswordFox for Mozilla’s Firefox.
